League Leading Generals to Face Undefeated Frontenacs

Oct 02, 2012 - 11:02 EDT

The Generals are riding high coming off a successful weekend sweep where they took all three of their games, scoring 5 goals or more in each match up. The Generals are now sitting atop the Ontario Hockey League, with 8 points and a 4-1 record.

Not only is the team leading the league, but Captain Boone Jenner is leading in both goals (7) and points (12).  He is the OHL’s top scorer with 12 points in 5 games and his nearest competition is Cameron Brace of the Owen Sound Attack who sits a whole 3 points back with 9.

Also in the points race, Matt Petgrave is 7th in the league with 8 points, Lucas Lessio sits 9th with 7, and Tyler Biggs is 13th overall with 6 points.  Matt Petgrave also holds the league lead for assists with 8 and Lucas Lessio leads the league in power play goals with 4.

The surging Generals will have a good challenge Friday when they face the as yet undefeated Kingston Frontenacs.  The Frontenacs are the only team remaining in the league to have not lost a game, going 3-0 thus far.  Division rivals, the Frontenacs sit right behind the Generals in the East Division and in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference.
