Boone Jenner and Lucas Lessio won the first ever Canada-Russia Challenge with Team Canada Tuesday night. After taking the initial game on August 9th, Canada then fell two in a row and needed a regulation win on August 14th.
After winning game 4 by a score of 4-2, Canada went on to beat Russia in a 20 minutes sudden death overtime to decide the series.
The Canada-Russia Challenge served as a replacement for Canada’s National Junior Team summer development camp for this season.
