Gens Fall to Bulls 4-3Sep 15, 2012 - 05:28 EDT
The Generals wrapped up their exhibition schedule last night in Uxbridge where they face the Belleville Bulls at the Uxbridge Arena & Recreation Centre.
After defeating the Bulls 6-1 in Bowmanville on September 11th, the Bulls came back with a vengeance in the rematch. The Generals could not recover from a rough second period and fell 4-3.
Oshawa looked to be off to a great start when Scott Sabourin scored in the first three minutes after a scramble in front of the net. Belleville answered quickly when Joseph Cramarossa beat Daniel Altshuller unassisted just two minutes later. Cramarossa would be a difference maker in the game, scoring once and having a hand in two more goals. The Generals reclaimed the lead before the end of the period. Tyler Biggs tallied to make it 2-1 Gens off a pass from Boone Jenner.
The second period was a challenge for the Generals, who gave up three goals and failed to score in the middle frame. Belleville’s goals came from Niki Petti, Austen Brassard, and Michael Curtis.
The Generals won the third period, scoring once and holding off the Bulls, but it was not enough to win the game. Near the half way marker, 1st round pick of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection Michael Dal Colle scored with a well-earned assist going to John Urbanic. Dal Colle brought the Generals within one goal of the Bulls, but despite a late power play opportunity, the Generals could not get one more past Malcolm Subban in the Bulls net.
