The Oshawa Generals hosted the Belleville Bulls tonight in their last exhibition home game and second last game of the exhibition schedule. The Generals skated away with a dominant 6-1 victory after a quick and clean game in Bowmanville.
The scoring started early for the Generals when Scott Sabourin tallied a minute and a half into the first period. Lucas Lessio added the his first of many on the night when he scored on the power play off a pass from Captain Boone Jenner. Tyler Biggs, assisted by Michael Dal Colle, wrapped up the scoring for the first period with a nice shot to make it 3-0.
A scoreless second period saw the Bulls come back with renewed energy to outshoot the Generals 14-8. The Generals carried their 3-0 lead into the third period though, where Lucas Lessio was a man on a mission and had a hand in the Generals final three goals. Lessio put away his second goal of the night at the three minute marker. A minute and a half later, Tyler Biggs scored on the power play off a pass from Lessio. Lessio then wrapped up the hat trick and four point night when he got away on the penalty kill and scored shorthanded. Though down 6-0, Belleville did not go silently. Austen Brassard scored on the power play to take away the shut out.
Lessio earned the first star of the night, the second went to Tyler Biggs, and the third went to Justin Tugwell who played the final two periods and stopped 25 of 26 shots.
